A couple of weeks back my friend Jayson and I found ourselves free and bored out of our minds at the exact same time. Nairobi had become "overdone" and all we wanted to do was spend a weekend away from our usual city life. We checkout various options on the "World Wide Web " and we came up with the greatest idea.. CAMPING.. But there was one small problem. We hate roughing it. And by roughing it I mean, we can’t deal with not being able to shower whenever we want to and we both also really love electricity. Basically I want to be in the wild without having to live in the wild. Get what I’m saying? So, how can we get the camping experience without having to actually camp out? Cause lets face it, I can’t pitch a tent to save my life…. Then it hit us…..GLAMPING...duhh.. We checkout numerous places, specifically in areas we've never been before and Storms Resort Nanyuki stood out to us ( http://www.stormsresort.com ). Its affordable, not too far and it gives you the feeling of roughing it in nature without having to truly rough it out. Cause I am not about that life. ...ohh one last thing, they have wireless. Need I say more...

There’s no place like home…. actually there’s not place like tent.
I really loved my room. It was cozy, had everything I needed ( bed, electricity and shower with hot water)
Ohh and white sheets. I can’t sleep in a hotel bed that does not have white sheets. It’s a hygiene thing.

Quick side note: If tents are a little “campy” for you, they also have cottages available.
On our full day at the resort: We woke up bright and early fuelled up with a large breakfast and start our day.
First item on our to do list, hiking. The resort offers an amazing hiking experience, with rangers available to take you through the beautiful trails. Its about an hour to an hour and a half walk through but can be done by anyone. It’s not Mouth Everest. All I would suggest is carrying a good pair of walking shoes and wear comfortable clothes.
I obviously went for the old leggings and oversized shit look. Comfort baby.
The hike took us from clean-cut pathways
To dry arid lands
And rocky trails

We finally started to head over to the main attraction of the hike, a rocky mountain like hill that gives you a view that is well worth the long and hot walk.

And last on our to-do list was quad biking. If you follow me on my instagram or snapchat you already know I am obsessed with quad biking. Now one of the main reason I chose Storms Resort was the fact that they offer off-road quad biking. Which means you don’t have to drive your quad bike around a dirt circle like in most places, you get to drive those babies through rough terrain like a beast.. YAAASSS…. But they do have a nice circle you can drive around if off-roading is a bit too scary for you.
Like beasts.
And the last day. Had to get my self all prettied up to head back to Nairobi. Had plans that evening and everyone who knows me knows, if I don't do my makeup after showering, I won't do it at all. Anyways thanks for stopping by xoxo Joy Kendi For room rates and more info visit their site http://www.stormsresort.com
